“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13)
Here’s a little humor for those families out there who maybe feel like they are trying to multiply those loaves and fishes with all the kids at home eating them out of house and home!
But on a more serious note, we can all take comfort in knowing that God can work through us to encourage and support others in these crazy times we are in. So friends, let’s remember when our anxiety levels are creeping up to pause for a moment and just smile…and breathe…and reconnect with God to allow God’s strength to support us and the Holy Spirit to surround us in peace.
And actually, one of the best ways to reduce your own anxiety is to reach out and help another. So…practice an act of kindness today with someone, model an act of kindness for your kids…and encourage them to do the same for each other. Take a moment afterwards to reflect on how this act of kindness has made the kingdom of God present, maybe for a brief moment, for you and another today.
